Taco Bell’s Wild New Chalupa Shell Is Made out of Fried Chicken
Taco Bell is delighting fried chicken fans (and mortifying health experts) all across the United States by releasing a new chalupa with a shell made from — yes, you guessed it — fried chicken.
The “Naked Chicken” will use a thin, curved piece of fried chicken for the shell, rather than the usual flour or corn. It’s an attempt by the fast food chain to capitalize on a record-high demand for chicken, while keeping up with other outlets’ crazy inventions — we’re looking at you, Burger King.
The shell is the chicken. The chicken is the shell. The #NakedChickenChalupa will be exposed January 26.
“Fried chicken is growing at a tremendous clip,” Taco Bell President Brian Niccol told Business Insider in an interview. “It’s a real void on our menu, and it’s something that our customers ask us for.”
Taco Bell’s Naked Chicken Chalupa will hit restaurants on January 26.
In other news, you can pre-order the Nintendo Switch this Friday.
